Whenever you have a question or a concern, Mohonasen wants to hear from you! Here are some important ways you can communicate with school district faculty and staff.

Search the staff directory

Use the box below to search our staff directory. You can search by last name, title, department or building. Do NOT search by first name.

Can’t find who you’re looking for? E-mail the district’s communications office at communications@mohonasen.org, or call your child’s school.

By telephone

One of the easiest ways to reach your child’s teacher is to call the school. Phone numbers for all schools are listed here. All teachers in each school have voicemail accounts so you can leave messages for individual teachers this way. Simply ask the school secretary to connect you with the voicemail of the teacher you wish to contact. Leave a detailed message so the teacher can have the information you need when he or she calls you back.

By mail

Addresses for each of our school buildings are listed here. You may also address correspondence to central office administrators or the Board of Education at the Mohonasen District Office, 2072 Curry Road, Schenectady, NY 12303.

By e-mail

E-mail addresses for administrators and other key district contacts can be found here. All faculty members are also provided e-mail accounts, so ask your child’s teachers if this is a good way to stay in touch. If so, exchange addresses.

Take advantage of parent-teacher conferences and open houses

Each of our schools holds an annual open house for parents in the fall. These events are a prime opportunity for you to meet and speak with teachers and other staff members at your child’s school.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

The elementary schools also schedule parent-teacher conferences in late fall and spring — great opportunities for parents and teachers to share insights, ideas, and concerns about students. And just because conference days aren’t scheduled at the middle school and high school, parents shouldn’t hesitate to contact their children’s teachers or guidance counselors to schedule a meeting.

Online

More and more teachers are developing web pages that feature everything from homework assignments to study links and samples of student artwork.

Assignment notebooks

Student assignment notebooks are a good forum for parents and teachers to exchange written notes about everything from homework to behavior. If you think this would be useful, ask the teacher about setting up a regular communications log.
