Draper receives new cameras thanks to the Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence

Draper students received new digital cameras and equipment thanks to a generous grant from the Mohonasen Foundation for Excellence.

With recent updates to the cell phone policy, students needed a new way to participate in the photography unit created by art teacher Steve Blais, and these cameras are the perfect solution. They will help students develop essential 21st-century skills such as photography, visual storytelling, media management and creative editing.

Students will be taking photos outdoors, practicing portraiture and learning how to edit their work using tools like Pixlr Editor, Canva and Adobe Express. These cameras will also benefit a variety of programs beyond the art classroom, including the Yearbook Club and other classes interested in filmmaking, documenting nature and project-based learning.
