Four MHS students recognized in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program


Kyle Benintende, Alexander D’annibale, Melissa Maitino and Andrew Shiely were four of the 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation who were recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

“We are incredibly proud of our students for their remarkable achievement as Commended Students,” said Principal Chandler. “Their hard work and dedication have placed them among the nation’s brightest students, and their success is a testament to the strength of our school community. We are Mohon Proud of them,” he added.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation noted the importance of recognizing these students and their schools, saying, “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”
