Mohonasen Central School District welcomes Joyce Long as she steps into the Director of Special and Alternative Education role. Long has spent over a decade in administration, overseeing operations to properly educate all students.
Throughout her impressive career, Long has developed multiple programs to meet the needs of all learners, including multi-sensory reading, autism programs, behavior support programs, literature labs and co-teaching programs that required a great deal of collaboration with administration, staff and parents.
“The relationships I have forged throughout my career help support the diverse needs of students, which has afforded me the pleasure of developing curriculum based on student need while being fiscally responsible.”
In her spare time, she enjoys time with family, involvement with the arts, hiking, and recently became an all-natural soap maker and certified mediator.
Long also recently welcomed a new family member, “I just became a grandma for the first time and am in love with the little man!”
