Connor Candee has been named the winner of the 35th annual Graduation Speaker Contest for the Class of 2023. Speaking candidates included Alexis Brown, Connor Candee, Nicholas Giardono, Jocelyn Howe, and Jesse Mathis.
Candee will deliver the keynote speech at this year’s commencement ceremony. All other participating candidates will speak in some capacity at the graduation events in June.
Judges for the competition included the director of corporate and foundation relations at the University at Albany, Rich Becker, Erin Breslin of the City Mission, CBS 6 Chief Meteorologist Steve LaPointe and the former vice president of communications and marketing for the Museum of Innovation & Science, Susan Whitaker.
