Dear parents, faculty, and staff,
As I had shared publicly during our Board of Education meeting on Friday, September 22, it was reported that the mural on our athletic storage shed in front of our turf field was painted over during the early morning hours. After realizing this was not done with District authorization, we reported the issue to the Rotterdam Police Department. They have been investigating the situation since and have not yet completed their investigation.
I have been urged to put out more information and details about the situation, and there are even accusations that the District is engaged in a “cover-up” type of situation. This is inaccurate. We are proceeding as advised by the RPD in that we are awaiting the official outcome of their investigation. As it’s an ongoing investigation, I am prohibited from addressing related questions or providing additional details until the investigation concludes.
