Students at Bradt hold an annual fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Northeastern New York. The organization grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses in the region. By fulfilling a child’s heartfelt wish, Make-A-Wish aims to bring joy, hope, and a sense of normalcy during challenging times.

“Hoops for Hearts” is a spirited event organized in collaboration with the American Heart Association to promote heart health and raise funds for cardiovascular research and education. During this event, students and community members come together to participate in basketball games, tournaments, and activities designed to encourage physical fitness and heart-healthy living.

Valentine’s for Veterans Program

The Valentine’s for Veterans Program is a heartfelt initiative that connects students and community members with veterans through the creation and delivery of personalized Valentine’s Day cards. This program aims to honor and express gratitude to the brave individuals who have served in the military, offering them a meaningful gesture of appreciation and support.

The Read for Ronald McDonald House program is a community-driven initiative that supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities by combining the love of reading with charitable giving. These funds help provide a comfortable and supportive environment for families with seriously ill children who are receiving medical treatment. The program not only promotes literacy and a love for reading but also contributes to the well-being of families during challenging times, making a meaningful impact through the simple joy of reading.

Grade 5 NYS AHPERD PE Leadership Award 

The Grade 5 NYS AHPERD PE Leadership Award recognizes outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in physical education and leadership skills. Presented by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYSAHPERD), this prestigious award highlights students who embody the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and active living.

Read for Ronald McDonald House

Like at Bradt, participants—students, teachers, and community members—commit to reading books or engaging in reading-related activities, while raising funds to benefit families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses.

Celebration of Cultures Day

During this annual celebration, students create posters sharing interesting facts about their culture as well as sharing food samples for students and faculty to enjoy. World language students create flags of their own culture to help decorate the lobby for the event and food services help by offering a variety of cultural foods for lunch all week.

Participation is Service Projects- Food Drives

Participating in service projects like food drives offers students a valuable opportunity to give back to their community and make a positive impact on those in need. During food drives, students organize and collect non-perishable food items to support local food banks including the Mohon Anchor Rooms. This hands-on experience helps students develop a sense of empathy, responsibility and civic engagement.

Through acting, set design and stage management, students explore various aspects of theater production and performance. The program provides opportunities for students to develop confidence, public speaking skills and a deep appreciation for the arts.

Healthy School Meals Advocacy at State Capitol

This hands-on experience allowed students to present research, share personal stories, and advocate for legislation that supports healthier meal options and nutritional education in schools. By meeting with legislators and attending committee hearings, students gained a deeper understanding of the legislative process and the importance of advocacy. Their involvement helped drive meaningful change at the state level, ensuring that healthier meal policies are implemented and sustained.
